# Public Node

Public nodes are nodes that can be operated by any individual or organization that wants to participate in the MEVerse Chain ecosystem. Public nodes can interact with the blockchain using remote procedure calls (RPCs), which allows them to build and run decentralized applications (dApps). They can also modify the open-sourced chain code to build their own dApp servers. Public nodes are an important element of the network's scalability.
